Runway Revival 2025: A Night of Style, Sustainability & Community

Runway Revival 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary, a celebration of creativity, conscious fashion, and community spirit. This year’s competition invited designers of all ages to transform clothing destined for landfill into striking, ready-to-wear outfits. The goal? To inspire more mindful fashion choices and highlight the incredible things that can happen when we upcycle, rethink, and revive.

But beyond the fashion, the purpose runs deeper. Runway Revival proudly supports our Family Works programmes, helping to feed, clothe, and uplift families across Otago. Every stitch, strut, and spotlight moment on the runway helps us build a stronger, more supported community.

And what a show it was.

Nearly 40 upcycled looks came down the runway, each one showcasing a unique take on sustainable style. We were also treated to two stunning collections from local Ōtepoti designers, adding even more creative firepower to the night.

The energy was unmatched, thanks in part to appearances by two iconic Dunedin drag queens, who lit up the room with charisma, colour, and pure talent. Generosity filled the evening too, with a show-stopping auction that helped raise vital funds for the families we support.

A huge congratulations to our 2025 winner, 15-year-old Hazel Evans, whose incredible talent and vision blew the judges away. Her story is one you won’t want to miss, check it out on our Instagram and Facebook.

Runway Revival 2025 was more than just a fashion show. It was proof that sustainability can be powerful, stylish, and full of heart. We’re so grateful to everyone who entered, attended, supported, or cheered us on.

Here’s to another year of creativity, compassion, and conscious fashion.
